Exclusive - Swaran Ghar's Ronit Roy: I keep telling my wife uske budhape ka sahara mein hun, all we expect from our kids is love
Ronit Roy is excited about his new outing on the small screen. The actor will be seen with Sangita Ghosh in Swaran Ghar which centers around the challenges parents face when their children grow-up. The promos show Kanwaljeet and Swaran Bedi (played by Ronit and Sangita respectively) talking about giving divorce to their three sons. They are accused of raising them up only to be their 'budhape ka sahara'.
While Ronit does not see any parallels between the show and his life, he did share his thoughts on parenthood.
Speaking exclusively to ETimes TV, the actor said, "My wife and I birthed two children. I keep telling her that tere budhape ka sahara mein hun. I am responsible for my wife. Children have their own trajectory. Parents don't raise children because they think humare budhape ka sahara yeh hain. Maybe some parents think so. But my wife and I don't think like that. What we want is that till you become an adult, till you go out to live your life and I say this to my kids also, all we want is that little bit of love. I don't think there's anything wrong with a parent expecting love and understanding."
With Swaran Ghar, Ronit Roy is going to be back on TV after a long gap of five years. When he was asked about his reasons for staying away from the small screen, he said, "TV started getting too repetitive and not progressive. There was a mismatch in the way they were doing programming and my sensibilities as I was evolving as a human being and an actor. I did another stint for a channel two and a half, three years back. I was expecting a lot from that role. Again, it didn't work out the way I thought it would."
This time Ronit's return to the small screen will surely bring joy to his fans. Swaran Ghar will premiere on TV from February 28. Ravi Dubey and his wife Sagun Mehta have produced the show under their banner, Dreamiyata Productions.
